“Thoughts rule the world; and Heart reigns the thoughts”
There once lived a tribal leader. Ailing and at the fag end of his life, he wanted to appoint a successor. Choosing the right one was proving to be a daunting task. So he decided to have an open to all test in the hamlet. He declared that whoever brings the best gift for him, within a week, would be made the leader of the tribe.
Excited, the aspirants decided to give their best in search of the gift that would get them the coveted honor. The week flew by. The D day arrived. The entire tribe assembled in front of the chieftain; a few with hopes to please their leader, and many out of curiosity.
When the bell rang to mark the beginning of the ceremony, one youngster got up and said, “Dear Leader, I’ve brought a casket of precious gold as a gift for a nobleman like you.” The chieftain nodded and smiled. The gift was received by the guards and kept safe. Next man arose and said, “I’ve brought a pot of fresh honey, which can do well to your health.” The chieftain smiled and nodded to his guards. The gift was received and kept safe.
Another man got up and said, “Beloved Leader, I’ve brought you a basket of mountain fruits and precious herbs from the peak of mountains, which can bring an ailing man back to his healthy self. The chieftain smiled and nodded to his guards, who dutifully received the gift and kept it safe.
